Center Church Welcomes You!

Nestled in the peaceful Litchfield Hills, Center Church opens wide its doors, its hands and its heart in extravagant welcome to the public.

Torrington is alive and well and the downtown area is bustling with artists of all types. The rejuvenated Warner Theatre, Nutmeg Ballet Company, and Artwell all find their home within walking distance from the church, bringing an excitement to the downtown area.

The excitement continues once you step through the church's blue doors as the church is clearly alive with soaring faith, beautiful music, amazing architecture, and a congregation of the warmest and most caring people in town.

The church's history is rich with peril and perseverance. It has rebuilt after disaster, has supported people in time of loss, has been a beacon of hope in the community, has encouraged newcomers as they have turned to the church for deepened faith-inspired living. Join in our fellowship. Discover what many have - new found friendships and a special relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

Ministries for the Entire Family

Our faith continues to grow outside of our worship service. Our church is bustling with activities to build fellowship and show our love to the Lord. We do this through music, youth programs and programs to enhance our spiritual growth.

  • Music is an important part of Center Congregational Church. Our music ministry features adult and children choirs, handbell choirs for adults and children, a contemporary praise band and special ensembles.
  • Youth Programs and Church School are a neccesary and fundemental part of our church's future and we take the spiritual education of our children very seriously. However, as serious as their education is, there is no reason why it can't be fun! Come learn about our program and all the fun and learning we have to offer.
  • Spritual Growth opportunities abound at Center Church. Learn about our many opportunities to join together and serve the Lord through Small Group Ministries, Bible Studies, seasonal seminars, spiritual retreats, Visitation Ministry and prayer groups.
  • Ministry to the Wider Community is an important part of tangibly expressing the love of Christ beyond the walls of the church as we engage in ministry projects in the community and beyond.

2011 Fall Festival makes record funds

2011 was a great year for the Fall Festival.  Through the hard work of everyone involved we raised $16,000 in funds.  This money was split up and given to the Community Soup Kitchen, Torrington Area Council of Churches' Emergency Fund and Friendly Hands Food Bank.

Bottle and Can Collection

We will continue with our collection and redemption of soda cans, with the monies being sent to the Re-Member Organization scholarship fund for residents of Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Mark Clark has stepped up to transport the plastic and glass bottles to the redemption center in Waterbury. Dianne Willard also helps by organizing the bottles brought into the Assembly Room. A big thank you to all those who contribute the redemable cans those who redeem the cans. Please remember to separate the plastic bottles from the glass bottles. This is a requirement from the redemption center.
